Our Story

Restoring Hope Where It's Needed Most.

The CARE Initiative was founded by young people in Migori County who refused to wait for change — they decided to build it themselves. We saw children without protection, families without support, and a generation of youth without a clear path forward, and we chose to act.

Today we are a youth-led, community-based organisation delivering humanitarian assistance, child protection, mental health support, and youth empowerment programs across Migori County — rooted in the belief that every vulnerable person deserves access to support and opportunity.

Direct support for families facing crisis — food, basic needs, and emergency relief for the most vulnerable households in Migori County.

Child Protection & Orphan Support

Safeguarding children from harm and providing holistic, dignified support for orphans and vulnerable children.

Mental Health & Psychosocial Support

Counselling, peer support, and trauma-informed care to strengthen the mental wellness of individuals and families.

Youth Empowerment

Skills training, mentorship, and leadership development that equips young people to build sustainable, independent futures.

Environmental Protection

Community-led environmental stewardship, from tree planting to climate awareness in local schools.
